WIN98/WIN98 SE Installation
1. Do not plug in the BioSlimDisk before installation
2. Please download the BioSlimDisk driver at our support solutions page.
3. Unzip the file ritech98.zip into any directory, say c:\ritech\. There are a total of seven files in the directory.
4. Plug in the BioSlimDisk and authenticate with the authorized fingerprints and complete the enrolment. (Download operational manual at support solutions page to learn how to do enrolment process)
5. Set up is preparing to install drivers to operating system. Click Next to continue
6. Check "Search for the best driver for your device(Recommended)". Click "Next" to continue. 7. Check "Specify a location" and browse ot the directory where ritech98.zip is unzipped. Click Next to continue.
8. First part of the setup is installed.
9. The PC then identifies a "USB Disk Controller" and asks for a driver.
10. Repeat step 7.
11. The driver should now be complete. Once installation is complete, you will see an icon showing "Removable Disk Drive" in My Computer.
WINDOWS XP/WINDOWS ME/WINDOWS 2000 Installation
For these 3 operating systems, no driver is needed because windows already has built-in driver that can support BioSlimDisk. Simply plug the BioSlimDisk into the USB port and upon authentication by authorized fingerprint, the BioSlimDisk will be recognized by the operating system automatically. Once installation is completed, plug the BioSlimDisk into the USB port and you will see an icon showing "Removable Disk Drive" on your 'My Computer" folder.
Mac OS 9.X / Mac OS X Installation
Plug BioSlimDisk into the USB port of your MAC Computer. A new icon named "Untitled" representing the BioSlimDisk is displayed on the desktop and you can use it as a storage device.
Before removing BioSlimDisk, please drag the icon to "Trash". For Mac OS 8.6, driver can be downloaded at our support solutions page
Linux 2.4X Installation
BioSlimDisk is formatted to FAT file system before shipping to you. It can be used with any Linux OS 2.4.x. Be sure that Linux Kernel should be added to support USB and USB file systems. USB Modules must be loaded in first.
1. Plug BioSlimDisk into USB port
2. Enter the system as user ID "root" and input the command "mount /dev/sda /mnt".
3. Before removing the BioSlimDisk, please remember to input the command "umount /mnt".
